Welcome! I am Sasha, a self-taught baker, cake decorator, confectionery artist, wife, and mom to our 3 amazing kids.

About Sasha Cakes Chicago 

I have been “trying” to bake alongside my grandma and mom since I was about 8 years old, even did my homework in the kitchen next to them as I did not want to miss any steps in their cookings and bakings. My grandma was a pro at all sorts of different delicious cookies and cakes, and mom still makes the most amazing lemon tarts, pies, and her very own homemade pizza. I am very lucky to inherit few of their secret recipes, some of which I recreated into something completely new and unique.  My 2015 trip to Paris, sweet tooth, and passion for baking led me into a determination to master French desserts – from Macaroons to Mille Feuille, Pate a Choux and mousse pastries – I learned and perfected them all, which opened a new door for me – Cake Decorating! I spent past two years baking and decorating custom cakes and desserts from my own kitchen, self-learning every step of the way, celebrating successes and rising up from failures and “oopsies”. Sasha Cakes Chicago is my little baking world where I want to share with you my experience and knowledge, baking lessons, tips and tricks, best tools and perfected recipes. My only goal is to bake delicious and beautiful desserts alongside you here, giving you confidence and as much excitement for it as I have!
